From the simple and well-designed dining room, it is a pleasure to watch Chef Julie Francis orchestrate her kitchen and prepare delightful dishes with total harmony and elegance. This makes dining at Nectar a holistic food experience in harmony with nature: the ingredients reflect the true Greater Cincinnati’s agriculture that you can sense and taste on the dishes.
The “raw materials” come from Julie’s personal trips to local farmers and are transformed with care to maintain the primary ingredients essence that become a concentrate of flavors when cooked.
Seasonality drives the menu, a bit “fusion” with Southwestern and Asian influence: absolute seasonal soup, Arugula Salad, Sweet Corn and Chile Tamade, Organic Farm Chicken, Farm Lamb….all dishes reflect the local wore Julie’s faith and the hard work of the farmers.
With this premise, rarely do a restaurant and a chef meet the Slow Food hallmarks of Good, Clean, and Fair food, so resoundingly and completely, as do Nectar and Julie Francis. And that’s why it wins a Snail of Approval!
