Map Wild Edibles in Madisonville
Starting point: Madisonville Branch Library 4830 Whetsel Ave Cincinnati, OH 45227
Tuesday, June 27th
Join Slow Food Cincinnati for some lessons in urban foraging in Madisonville. Alan Wight of the University of Cincinnati will guide us as we take a stroll through the Madisonville community looking for edible landscapes in order to place them on a food map. The food mapping process helps us to think differently about food sources, landscapes and urban spaces. Alan has already completed maps of Camp Washington and Northside, and is currently working on a Madisonville map (to read more about Alan’s work, take a look at the article linked below). June is the perfect time to look for wild edibles, so if you are interested in knowing more about how to spot them please join us. We will meet at the Madisonville library at 4830 Whetsel Ave and depart from there after a brief orientation. This event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to wendy @ slowfoodcincinnati.org.
